auxiliary bus/drivers feature set versus platform/mfd

I'm looking at switching from platform drivers (via mfd subsystem) to auxiliary bus/device drivers. There is a lot of functionality available for platform devices and MFD subsystem. I'm wondering if there are any plans to enhance auxiliary devices to share some of these features?
