Rik, Could you confirm the configuration of mailman that hosts jp-kernelnewbies list. It does not deliver and archive any messages well. In the LSM question thread, two messages came from Kazuki Omo were not archived. (This thread contains five messages in actually) http://lists.kernelnewbies.org/pipermail/jp-kernelnewbies/2007-November/thr… In the CABI project thread, I have not receive any message yet. It seems to me being an inconsistent trouble... I believe SMTP server is configured correctly, because I can receive the message came from password reminder. So, I doubt the configuration of mailman. 皆様 LKMLに投稿するパッチを作成する際、基となるカーネルコードをどれにするかで迷っています。以下の5つのどれかだと思っているのですがどれがよいでしょうか。 1. リリースされているstableカーネル（例：2.6.23.XX） 2. リリースされているrcカーネル（例：2.6.24-rcX） 3. Linuxのgitツリー 4. Andrew Mortonのgitツリー 5. パッチ対象コードのメンテナのgitツリー（例: arch/shへのパッチならPaul Mundtのsh-2.6等） --- 松原克弥＠株式会社イーゲル matsu(a)igel.co.jp

Here is a proposal of our work, in order to explain the intention of our development. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- CABI (Common Accounting and Blocking Interfaces Systems). CABI provides a resource control mechanism for embedded Linux. These days, resource control in Linux is one of the hot Linux kernel topics along with containers. Compared to containers, our control algorithm is more fine grained to meet the requirements of embedded system. Moreover, our system can be suitable to the develpper who wants to use the resource control system lightweight and independent from the basic scheduler. Our system provides a lightweight implementation and uses independent resource management from the main scheduler. These are the favorable features for embedded systems. CABI system provides Accounting Object (AO), an abstraction of our system that is the interface of a process group of processes. It stores parameters from the users. The accounting system allows to operate the AO based on parameters. If they are bind to an AO, they are controlled under the parameters set in the AO. For example, in CPU resource control, if a developer sets the parameters for AO such as period is set to 100ms and execution to 60ms, The result is that 60% of cpu is given to the AO group. <-- period (100ms) --> <-- period (100ms) --> |----------------------|----------------------| |<----------->| execution (60ms) If the AO reaches the limit for the execution within that period, an event is triggered. User can select the event as signal or block. This notification is very useful to prevent malicious attacks. Our memory system shares the architecture with cpu one. The user can set the parameter for an accounting object which controls the group of processes, such as 100MB or 500MB within the whole physical memory as a constraint. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- In embedded system, there are sensitive resource requirements, especially for CPU and memory with fine grained control. For example, a video player that should process 20-60 frames within a second. If we want a multimedia system of quality, we need to think about resource management for the application to reserve the cpu and memory. LSMの作り方で質問です

皆様、始めまして面と申します。 SELinuxやAppArmor, TOMOYOとかと同じセキュアOSモジュールの一つである LIDSの開発者になっています。 LIDSをカーネル本体に載せようと思ってSubmitする予定ですが、他の実装(AppArmorとかTOMOYOとか)をよく見れていないんですけれど、 SELinuxをDisabled(/etc/selinux/config)の状態で入れてるんでしょうか？何が言いたいかというと、素のカーネルですとSELinuxがデフォルトで組み込まれるようにチェックが入っています。で、そのチェックボックスを外して、AppArmor/TOMOYOを選択するという方式なのか(LIDSは現在はこの形)、そのチェックボックスは入れたままで AppArmor/TOMOYOもmenuconfig等で選択してカーネルを構築し、 /etc/selinux/configの記述をDisabledにしているのかを知りたいです。ちなみに、昨日ちょっと作ってみたのですが、SELinuxのチェックボックスをつけたままですと、LIDSでregister_security()を予備に行った時に「既にregisterされている」エラーが返って来ます。どうやら、SELinuxが先にregisterしているようです。ですので、他の実装ではどうやっているのかが気になります。宜しくお願いします。 OMO -- Kazuki Omo: omok(a)honto.info LIDS Japanese Information: Japanese: http://www.selinux.gr.jp/LIDS-JP/index.html English: http://www.selinux.gr.jp/LIDS-JP/LIDS_en/index.html Diary: http://omok.livejournal.com

Git の利用環境

柴田ですまだ参加者が増えていないのですが、この秋に行われるいつくかのイベントで紹介するなどして、このMLの知名度を上げていきたいと思います。それに先だって、現在の参加者の中でも可能な話題を少し議論したら、と思います。最初の話題として git について ---- カーネル開発をするにあたって、git を自分の元で利用することはすでに当然と言ってもよいのではないか、と思いますが、いろいろ環境的な課題もあるのではないかと思います。皆さんの開発環境の中で困ることやその対策などをあげていただくことできませんでしょうか? ちなみに私のところでは、firewall によって git が使うポートが塞がれていました。

Hi, I found the following trouble report and solution in the mailman-jp user's list. http://mm.tkikuchi.net/pipermail/mmjp-users/2006-October/001882.html He reported that his mailman displays "unknown encoding" error and die as follows: > --------------------------------------------------------------------- > File "/usr/local/mailman/pythonlib/email/Charset.py", line 283, in convert > ).encode(self.output_codec, 'replace') > LookupError: unknown encoding: iso-2022-jp > --------------------------------------------------------------------- They said this problem was actualized when any Japanese charatcter was parsed after "import japanese" on the combination of mailman-2.1.9 and python-2.5. Another person suggested to comment out "import japanese" in the following files: /usr/lib/mailman/cron/paths.py /usr/lib/mailman/tests/paths.py /usr/lib/mailman/scripts/paths.py /usr/lib/mailman/bin/paths.py Python-2.4 or later has CJKCodec module in the default, so it is applied if "japanese" module is not loaded explicitly and you can avoid the trouble. He estimated "japanese" module breaks something in the combination. (*) CJK = China, Japan, Korea Then, the reporter replied his trouble got resolved.
