Is there a way you could increase the kernel log level to debug, and capture the
logs during boot? That might be informative.

And Windowses :-) But nothing looks particularly erroneous about the output.

Interesting, I see no mention of "Makefile.normal" here. But maybe that's
because you removed whatever required it?
