My simple kernel module wont compile

Maybe you should replace the KERNEL_DIR definition in MAKEFILE. My
suggestions:

KERNEL_DIR:=/usr/src/linux-headers-$(shell uname -r)/build
or
KERNEL_DIR:=/lib/modules/$(shell uname -r)/build
