Problem in loading Nouveau driver

Hello
when i use modprobe it gives me this:
modprobe: ERROR: ../libkmod/libkmod-module.c:809
kmod_module_insert_module() could not find module by name='off'
modprobe: ERROR: could not insert 'off': Function not implemented
modprobe: ERROR: ../libkmod/libkmod-module.c:809
kmod_module_insert_module() could not find module by name='off'

I guess at least i should once load the module manually and then try
using modprobe.
